Day 11: Fri 6 May - Mitchell

Day 11: Fri 6 May - Mitchell

12 – 22°,  It felt a lot cooler than 12 deg for most of the morning - but it did warm up once the sun came out late in the afternoon. The sneaky breeze made it feel cold.
Not much to report today...except it was my birthday, and i had a very enjoyable day. I got up early for a very fresh walk along the river, returning to find that one of our traveling group were packing up to return home early. Kev and Jo developed gas issues last night meaning they had no refrigeration, so they decided to pull the pin and head home. After breakfast and after bidding Kev and Jo farewell,  Greg and I rode into town for an early dip in the thermal springs (40 deg today), then returned  just in time for fresh baked birthday blueberry muffins and coffee (thanks Wendy - they were yummy). We then got back on the bikes for another ride into and around town, including a visit to the Booringa Heritage Museum with local exhibits of a by-gone era. It was a very enjoyable stroll back through time. Back to the van we went for lunch, then Greg and I rode back into town again for another dip in the thermal springs. Dinner tonight was at the 'Rock' with Noeleene, Greg and Wendy topping of very relaxing and enjoyable day. Tomorrow we move on to Charleville for a few days, hoping the forecast rains don't eventuate.

Our parking spot for two nights at the Weir - minus Kev and Jo who have sadly left this morning
