Day 38: Thu 2 Jun - Yeppoon

Day 38: Thu 2 Jun - Yeppoon

15 – 21°. A partly cloudy morning with light winds easing by mid afternoon - another ideal winters day.  Our caravan park is very quiet at night, but last night a mob of curlews gave Noeleene a sleepless night with their eerie 'child-like' screaming which they are known for. They can be very loud and the sound unsettling at night. I started the day again with a quick walk along the beach at sunrise again, before driving back to Rockhampton for more adjustments to the canopy. It was quick work at ARB, and I was back in Yeppoon again by mid morning - hopefully no more adjustments are needed. My mother and brother Greg drove up from Gladstone for the day to visit siblings and in-laws. Mum also dropped in some headlight protectors that I ordered in Gladstone but hadn't arrived before we left. For lunch, we all met at the Aged Care Facility for pizza with Uncle HelmutIt was nice sitting outdoors in the garden under a gazebo on a beautiful day with Uncle eating a meal of sorts together, something we did a lot over the years at his home of 52 years up until last year. He doesn't say much, but i have no doubt he enjoyed the company and us just being together again. Mum and Greg headed off back to Gladstone around 2pm, while i stayed on for a while longer to help Uncle with a few things in his room before i headed back to the van for the afternoon. Another day ended way too fast again.

Another sunrise on Yeppoon beach

A nice setting for lunch - Mum, Greg, Uncle and Noeleene

At 92, he's still pretty handy on the tooth - It was probably the nicest tasting Dominoes pizza I've ever had though.

I think it's safe to say he enjoyed the company
