Day 40: Sat 4 Jun - Yeppoon
18 – 27°. Partly cloudy with a few light showers in the morning clearing to a sunny afternoon.
Well - another day that didn't quite go to script. It started off fine, an early walk to the beach with Greg for another lovely sunrise, then back to the van for breakfast. My plan was to head up to Uncle for a morning visit, then return again in the afternoon for a longer farewell visit, and video call to my cousin Jürgen in Germany at 4pm. Unfortunately shortly after i arrived at Capricorn Gardens for my morning visit, Uncle had a hard fall - i was outside his room at the time and had just arrived. He fell hard on his left hip - the one replaced last year, and hit his head against the wall. After a lengthy assessment, he was taken by ambulance to Yeppoon hospital, but later taken to Rockhampton hospital by ambulance for x'rays and scans. Our afternoon was spent waiting and calling for updates, so Noeleene and I went for a drive to the Rosslyn Bay and back to Yeppoon beach for lunch. In the afternoon, Greg and I went for a ride around town along the rail trail and to Ross Creek. Several calls later, I still had no update on Uncles' condition, so off to dinner at the we ent
