Day 63: Mon 27 Jun - Mareeba
18-24°, A cloudy start to the day, no wind, becoming clear with strong gusting winds throughout the day, and winds settling again by the evening. It was a much needed quiet day of personal admin and carrying out a few chores around the van. There isn't much to see in Mareeba, so it was the perfect opportunity for a step back in pace. I went for a short morning walk with Greg, returned for breakfast and caught up on some admin while Noeleene went into town to do a bit of grocery shopping. When Noeleene returned and unpacked the shopping, we both headed back into town to Coffee Works for our daily morning brew with Greg and Wendy. Afterwards, we topped up on some gourmet chocolates (not sure how long they will last), followed by a walk through the streets of Mareeba and a few shops, then it was back to the van for lunch. With the strong gusting winds, I had to re-set the awning and anti flappers, while Noeleene was busy in the kitchen preparing a vegetable Fritatta to be cooked in the air fryer for dinner with salad. The verdict = very nice, another big tick for the air fryer. In the afternoon, I caught up on some more personal stuff, then went for a short walk around the rodeo grounds before Greg and Wendy joined us (from next door) for our pre-dinner catch up. Tomorrow, Noeleene and I plan to drive into Kuranda for the day.
