Day 95: Fri 29 Jul - Muttaburra to Aramac
Towed 90km
5 (Felt like 0) to 23 deg. Another fresh morning, warming throughout the day with very little wind. A longer than usual morning walk back through and around Muttaburra, returning for breakfast and with only a short distance to drive, a later than usual departure at 9:30. We soon arrived at the Aramac Caravan Park which is run by the local council on an honesty payment system of $20 / night or pay for two nights and stay for five nights. We're paid for 2 nights but we're only staying for two nights - tomorrow we are driving the 200km Lake Dunn Sculpture Trail which starts and finishes in Aramac. The facilities here brand new and some of the very best we've had this trip. Quite an amazing effort for such a small community. Aramac and Muttaburra are trying to attract a lot of Grey Nomads to visit and stay in their small communities, and it seems to be working. All RV parks in each town are very busy. We quickly set up, then walked into town and found a small cafe, operated from inside a home in the main street where the guy who owns it, encourages you to enter his home to place your order and sit in his lounge to drink your coffee or eat your meal. We chose to sit outside at a table in the shade at the front of his shop/home. The coffee was pretty good too. We walked back to the van for lunch, did a few chores and planned the remainder of our trip to take us home by 12 Aug - our revised return date. Later in the afternoon I went for a leisurely bike ride around town in the warm sunshine - very enjoyable. Back at the van Noel and I sat outside enjoying our pre-dinner drink and another stunning sunset ending a very relaxing day. Apart from an occasional cattle truck passing by, it is very quiet at the park.
